There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. – Romans 8:1 (NKJV)

Key points:

Take a moment to read Romans 8:38-39.

The word ‘condemnation’ is not commonly used in our everyday language.

In his letter to the Romans, Paul uses it as a legal term.

To be condemned was to be sentenced.

Like the early Christians, we want to believe that God can forgive us, but we also have a tendency to condemn ourselves.

Paul wants us to understand that no condemnation, not even self-condemnation, can separate us from God’s love.

Later in the same chapter he writes these words:

Paul wants us to understand that no condemnation, not even self-condemnation, can separate us from God’s love.

I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death or life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow – not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below – indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38-39)

The freedom to live a life inspired by God’s love is on offer for all who choose to belong to Jesus.

If you have needed that reminder today, here it is.
