The Scenic Rim’s Eat Local Week is celebrating 10 years of flavour with over 125 events in 48 locations this year from the 26th June until the 4th July.
Eat Local Week Manager, Brenda Walker, explains the event started in 2011 to help the farmers during the floods.
“An idea to get together some farmers and raise spirits a little bit,” she said.
With picnics at Mt Tamborine, taste testings of local olives, jams, relishes and cheeses, wine and cider tastings and a mini citrus market, Live music and entertainment is provided as well.
“There’s everything from long table lunches under the gum trees, digger station dinners, farm day events and workshops,” Brenda said.
