During the weekend, women turn over their watches, phones, wallets and car keys. Only items on the packing list provided are allowed. The women walk considerable distances carrying their backpacks with their equipment.

Along the route the spiritual leaders of Arise speak short messages to take women on a self-discovery of their godly identity, often accompanied with a practical assignment to build on the biblical lesson.
